ONE EVENT WILL BRING THE BEST CITITES IN THE WORLD TOGETHER IN GUAYAQUIL

THE INTERNATIONAL EQUIPMENT, SERVICES AND MUNICIPAL DEVELOPMENT SYMPOSIUM WILL TAKE PLACE IN MAY

With great interest on behalf of official and private entities that are linked to the work that is done in the twenty-first century, the first EXPOMUNICIPAL will take place.  EXPOMUNICIPAL is a national and international sample of projects, equipment, services, solutions in urban management and public administration.

During the official presentation in Guayaquil’s City Hall, the Association of Ecuadorian City Governments (AME) and HoritzoGrup signed a cooperation agreement.  This agreement secures the link between these two entities that work hand in hand to hold EXPOMUNICIPAL in order to improve regional development.  The President of AME, Jonny Terán, and the Executive President of the business that organizes the event, Jaime Rull, signed this agreement.
During this first fair, which is also held with the support of the City of Guayaquil, important subjects like Administrative De-centralization of City Governments, urban safety and ecological practices will be addressed.  This event will also be appropriate for the awarding of the Best Sectional Practicum (MPS), a contest that was developed for national entities and international cooperation.  In its third edition, the country already has more than 48 registered projects (review participants in the attached pamphlet.)

The event will be held from May 15 to 18, 2008.  It will be open to the public, university students and professionals from different fields on the 17th and 18th, following academic programs, meetings between people involved in projects and sponsors as well as professional exchanges in the symposium.

For the first time in Latin America, the event will offer various attractions: the country’s best city projects, social initiatives from private enterprises and research from universities and official entities, all of which focus on the city, the great protagonist of this event.   EXPOMUNICIPAL will take place in the Simon Bolivar Convention Center.
At the present time, more than thirty-four thousand city governments from around the world have been invited.  We hope that a good-sized group of mayors and professionals from 10 countries will participate in this event to promote the work of sectional governments that make use of these good practices.
